Are your children ready for a summer adventure? Once again "A Summer Night Out" will be offered four Wednesdays & Fridays. Attend just one or all four: Wednesday July 17 Friday July 19 Wednesday July 24 Friday July 26 The intention is that parents can enjoy a couple of hours for dinner, take a walk or just have a quiet evening. Meanwhile, the children from three years old through children entering grade 4 spend a couple hours participating in crafts, music, snacks, Bible lessons and activities. RACINE COUNTY FAIR Every year our church joins with other members of Camp Oakridge to serve as ticket takers, wristbands, and other easy jobs at the fair. The proceeds raised go to operations and improvements at the campground. More recently, a large covered rack for firewood was added and an extension on the pavilion. So take a look at the schedule and contact DJ Meier at 262-945-7720 and let him know when you could help. Our goal is to have each church cover 10 shifts. The fair runs from Wednesday, July 24th -Sunday, July 28th. THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Pray for our Mission is Asia WELS World Mission work in Asia is subdivided into three different administrative groups: Asia-Pacific Rim, East Asia, and South Asia. Gereja Lutheran Indonesia (GLI) is a sister church of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). It is also a member of the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (CELC) – a global fellowship of Christian believers who are united in doctrine and practice. Members of Gereja Lutheran have a wonderful evangelical spirit and are sharing the Word with various linguistic and ethnic groups spread across the archipelago. GLI is also concerned about nurturing its members by helping them to “grow in the grace and knowledge of their Lord” and guiding them in sanctified Christian living. Like WELS, GLI has an active worker training program which is preparing future ministers and leaders. They have 1,240 baptized nationals, 25 national pastors/evangelists, 17 national vicar/seminary students and 30 congregations/preaching stations.

MULCH DAY - SATURDAY JULY 13 Much like our hair, playground mulch tends to thin out as it gets older. :-D Therefore, in order to keep our school playground safe, we will be replenishing mulch this summer. We are planning to move the mulch on Saturday July 13th beginning at 10:00am. The plan is simple, move the mulch from point A to point B. Given that we will be moving about 60 yards of mulch, many able bodied helpers are needed. All you to do is show up. If you have a rake, wheel barrow, or grain shovel, those would be helpful as well. If you have any questions, please contact the school office 847-395-1660.

SAVE THE DATE! Our annual Faith Family picnic is Sunday, August 11th from Noon till 3PM. Dunk tank and moon walk will be part of the fun! Watch for the display in the Gathering Space to sign up for needed items.

COFFEE HOUR We are looking for various groups, families or just a few volunteers to help out with our Sunday morning Fellowship Hour. This involve starting coffee, setup and cleanup. Please see the sign up sheet by the kitchenette. Help is needed Sunday, July 14 and 21.

SCHOOL REGISTRATION Activities for the new school year begin August 5th as our teachers start the school year off with home visits and preschool activities. There is still time to learn more about our school ministries and what makes our school so special. Our Christmas worship will feature an inspiring message, favorite Christmas carols, and a place to bask in the light of the Christ-child. Worship on Christmas Eve at 5 pm, 7 pm and 10:30 pm, and Christmas Day at 9 am at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church: 24300 W. Grass Lake Road, Antioch IL.
